Abstract
Objective: This study was conducted to be used as a fundamental material for developing the program and industrial dental health policy necessary to establish the constant dental health care system for workers.

Methods: To efficiently maintain and improve dental health, this study conducted a comparison analysis of the dental diag-nosis results of 3,125 workers and the National Oral Health Survey results of 3,353 Korean adults. The subjects aged 18 to 64 years were categorized into age groups, and then they were compared in terms of dental caries, missing teeth, gingivitis, calculus deposition, and oral treatment need.

Results: With regard to the standardized prevalence rate of dental caries, workers accounted for 4.4% and Korea adults 1.7%. The prevalence rate of severe dental diseases of workers aged 35 to 54 years was the same highest as Korean adults. Regarding the priority of oral treatment need, in the case of workers, scaling ranked in the 1st place, caries treatment in the 2nd, and tooth brushing education in the 3rd; in the case of Korean adults, caries treatment ranked in the 1st place, scaling in the second, and extraction in the 3rd.

Conclusion: Given the above results, it is necessary to plan and perform life-cycle based dental health projects in order to ef-ficiently care for workers¡¯ dental diseases and improve their dental health and to prevent dental caries and gingivitis by pri-oritizing industrial dental health policies.
